A little over a week ago the Pentagon said that they think the U.S. led coalition airstrikes (which has been the common strategy against ISIS) has been working. Why it hasn't been working to its full potential is because the coalition efforts and the Iraqi government actions have worked against each other. The reason for this is the Iraqi government's sectarian politics. The coalition airstrikes are working to a certain extent but succeed in the long run there will need to be ground offenses from the Iraqi government and political solutions shared by the U.S. led coalition and the Iraqi government.
